Format SD Card: Panasonic Lumix Camera

How to format the memory card in a Panasonic Lumix Camera. I'm going to tell you how to do this is in a point and shoot compact camera [The Panasonic TZ1], but due to many Panasonic cameras having the the same software interface, I'm fairly sure these instructions will work with most Panasonic Bridge cameras also.

First off, turn the camera on and move the top dial on the camera into the playback position so its lined up with the dot on the left. That is the mode with the play button symbol. See the picture below.

After doing this, press the "Set" button on the front Menu [that is the middle button on the front of the camera] See the picture below.

Now just scroll through the options on the Play menu until you see the Format option. Click Format. It will ask if you want to "Delete all data on the memory card". Click yes. Give it a few seconds to do the work. And that's it, all done. All data on the card has been deleted / wiped.

Successors to the Lumix TZ1

As good as the TZ1 is, it's now a fairly old and outdated digital camera. And while I still use it all the time, part of me thinks I should upgrade. There have been some great advancements in Panasonic camera technology within the last ten years, and I do have my eye on a few of the smaller, newer "street photography" style compact models.

Some of those include: The Panasonic ZS80D | GX85 4K | Lumix G100 | and the somewhat bigger and more expensive Panasonic S5

I'll still be keeping the old TZ1 though, don't worry about that!
